Background
The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) is the UK’s compensation fund of last resort for customers of firms authorised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).
Brief
FSCS’s Annual Report and Accounts and Class Statements are companion documents with a related look and feel.
The Class Statements use a series of tables and box plot charts to show how funds are levied, paid out and cross-subsidised by the different sector ‘pools’.
Solution
The design uses a digital overlay to emphasise FSCS’s digital future, awareness and transparency.
A lighter magazine-style format, with increased use of white space and an asymmetric layout creates a contemporary feel.
Reportage style photography, using a short depth of field, focuses on FSCS staff.
