Background
The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) is the UK’s compensation fund of last resort for customers of firms authorised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA). The FSCS Plan and Budget is a forward-looking document and a key communication to the financial industry.
Brief
Refresh the look and feel of the Plan and Budget, to echo that of the Annual Report. The new design needed to be an evolution of the previous design, whilst fitting within the FSCS literature suite hierarchy.
Solution
The design uses a digital overlay to emphasise FSCS’s digital future, awareness and transparency. A lighter magazine-style format, with increased use of white space and an asymmetric layout creates a contemporary feel.
Reportage style photography uses a short depth of field to create a distinct look and feel that maintains a focus on FSCS staff.
