DFID UK Aid Annual Report and Bilateral Aid Review 2010

Background

The Department for International Development (DFID) is the part of the UK government that manages Britain’s aid to poor countries and works to get rid of extreme poverty.

Brief

The report needed to be written in an engaging manner with information for the casual reader as well as aid professionals and the media.

The design needed to be in line with the DFID brand and be capable of output to a black and white printer.

Solution

The main theme of the report is that UK aid makes a practical difference on the ground.

Splitting the document into two parts meant that the country summaries could be provided in an easy to access stats and facts format, whilst the UK aid review could be told in a more engaging scrapbook style narrative in which quotes, boxouts and case studies brought the report to life.
